Anticipation and Gratitude: A Journey to Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday
I was overjoyed to receive a message from my RCIA Instructor, bringing news that filled my heart with anticipation and gratitude. It was revealed that my Parish Priest had graciously agreed to conduct a private ceremony for my Confirmation—scheduled to take place this Sunday, none other than Pentecost Sunday.
Originally slated for Confirmation on Saturday, April 11, 2020, during the Easter Vigil, my journey to full communion with the Catholic Church encountered an unexpected detour due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation of Public Masses thwarted our plans, but now, a new opportunity has arisen, filling me with renewed hope and excitement.
In preparation for this sacred moment, I recently participated in my first Confession—a solemn and deeply personal sacrament that paved the way for my impending Confirmation. With reverence and humility, I approached the confessional, seeking forgiveness and spiritual renewal, as I prepared to embrace my new identity within the Catholic Church.
As I look forward to this momentous occasion, I am filled with gratitude for the unwavering support of my Sponsor, who will stand by my side as I take this significant step in my faith journey. Their presence adds an extra layer of meaning and significance to the ceremony, and I am eager to share this special moment with them.
Amidst the anticipation and excitement, I hope to capture the essence of this sacred occasion through photography—a tangible reminder of the grace-filled moments that unfold as I embrace my Confirmation with the name John Paul, in honor of the revered Pope Saint John Paul II.
As I prepare to embark on this transformative experience, I am filled with a sense of reverence and gratitude for the blessings that have guided me thus far. With faith as my compass and love as my guide, I eagerly anticipate the journey that lies ahead, as I step into a new chapter of my spiritual life.
