Meet Father George: Priest-in-Residence

Apologies for the delay in sharing this exciting news, but I am delighted to announce a recent addition to our parish family. Reverend Father George Richard, who previously served as Parochial Vicar in Clinton, Connecticut, has been graciously sent to us by the Bishop of Norwich to serve as Priest-in-Residence at our parish rectory. Taking up residence at 19 St. John Square, Father George has wasted no time immersing himself in our community. Since his arrival late last month, he has already delivered three inspiring sermons at Saint John, captivating hearts with his wisdom and warmth. Father George brings with him a wealth of experience, having served on the Tribunal for several years. Now embarking on his 8th assignment as a Priest, his dedication to his calling is truly admirable. On behalf of our parish community, I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to Father George. Journey of Faith: Reflections on My Period of Mystagogy

As the sun sets on the month of July, so too does my Period of Mystagogy draw to a close—a sacred time of reflection following my journey into full Communion with the Catholic Church. Throughout this transformative month, I have embarked on a deeply personal quest to understand what it means to be a devout Catholic and an active member of my parish community. As I pause to review the progress I have made thus far, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and accomplishment for the strides I have taken on this spiritual path: 1. Embracing the Brotherhood: I am honored to have become a member of the Knights of Columbus—a fraternity dedicated to serving our community and upholding the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. 2. Serving the Parish: In my role as an assistant to the Parish Administrator, I have had the privilege of contributing to the daily operations of our parish.
